Hierloom Antiquarian Childrens Books are usually in the worst shape of all the genres.
They have been read hundreds of times, as a result the cover and text is usually in tatters.

2 Antiquarian Bindings for Conservation
The 3/4 leather binding required saving the original boards but replacing the leather; conserving the interior hinges, new gold tooling on spine.
The cloth binding required a cloth reback.

1815 Antiquarian Paper Binding for Conservation - Book Conservation
This is a paper binding that was missing the spine except for the original paper label.
I rebacked it using a matching archival paper and reattached the label.
Paper bindings are usually more difficult than cloth or leather as paper is much more delicate.
Also paper binding boards are usually much thinner and more difficult to work with.
